Thanks for your careful and well planned work Glen, we love our wood oven.  It’s not just a place to cook; it has really created a lifestyle to enjoy in our garden.

We lit the oven on Friday night after work.  I popped a pasty plate that I had in the freezer in for a quick dinner and once the kids went to bed we sat outside with a glass of wine and just enjoyed the fire while we baked a loaf of bread for the weekend.

On Saturday for brunch we toasted the bread and added tomato salsa to make bruchettas.  Stoking it again late afternoon we roasted beef and a tray of veggies, plus baked potatoes on the coals for a perfect dinner for our extended family.  Dad brought a cake he had mixed but not baked and cooked it after dinner for dessert.  Our kids loved the process and the hot cake!
On Sunday morning we prepared a bolognaise sauce and a casserole (Moroccan style lamb shanks) to cook slowly, plus we roasted a duck – the basis of three meals for the working week. With the freezer full, the oven still hot and the kids hungry again, we made pizza together for dinner, finishing off with baked apples and chocolate bananas for desert (we really didn’t need desert though!).  Our daughter took left over pizza for school lunch on Monday.

"I have to say trying to co-ordinate a renovation from Adelaide for my holiday house 300km away was a difficult task at times and even more difficult trying to find someone to build an outdoor kitchen! After getting the run around from 2 different builders with no inspiration at all I broaden my search and stumbled across Traditional Brick Ovens on the internet. I had this idea in my head of what I wanted but I needed that inspiration and enthusiasm from someone to take it that step further. I spoke to Glen and within that one conversation I was overwhelmed with the ideas he was suggesting and thought wow, this project might actually get off the ground now. I was equally surprised the next day when I received an email with two design plans.

Soon after I met Glen over at the house and we mapped out the kitchen and finalised the design plans. One of the ideas Glen suggested was an island bench in the form of a surfboard. Now Marion Bay is the gateway to some of the best surf breaks in South Australia. I thought to myself, wow this is someone who is thinking outside the square and it didn't take much to convince me to include this in the plan. The whole project was coming together nicely!

I spent 4 days with Glen while he built the Kitchen, he is a tireless worker and very meticulous about his work. Each morning I be awaken at 7am to the noise of him working, so no sleepins for me that week! :-) In all seriousness it was fantastic seeing this kitchen take shape, it had been nearly 6 months since I tried to get this job done!

The final product has been the talk of the town, small country town doesn't take long for the word to spread. All the people that have visited and have been in awe of the work and design of this kitchen.

I'd like to thank Glen and Mary for all your hard work in helping me put this Kitchen together. I would thouroughly recommend you talk to Glen if you are wanting an awesome outdoor kitchen. I'm looking forward to many years of enjoyment outa mine!

Back in December of 2007 we placed an enquiry to Glen on the internet. Within 1-2 hours Glen responded and things went from there.
 
The whole concept of building an outdoor kitchen with The traditional Brick oven as the motivation was the absolute easiest building experience that we have ever had. Glens attention to detail and absolute commitment to his clients is 2nd to none! Our initial quote and the time frames that were discussed were always met to the minute. If Glen says he will be there at a specified time 100% guarantee he will be there.
 
The quality of the materials and the finishing touches are superb. It is a full learning experience also. Glen supplies the right tools and also takes the time to explain how "the Oven" works/and stays with you and shares a Pizza!!!. Glen also maintains your property as he builds his exceptional creations. Mostly nothing is to difficult for Glen, he adds his thoughts to what you have in mind, and more often than not his wealth of knowledge and experience is well worth following!
 
To summarise we had an initial consult of 1 hour and quote was with us within a week. We discussed a suitable time for both parties for work to start and the construction ran like clockwork. We are 100% elated with our outdoor kitchen investment and would quite happily recommend Building with Glen! We wish Glen and his wife many successes in his "traditional Brick Oven" business as well as the catering arm. I have never had a pizza like it and never had a lamb roast like it.....and the apple pie was great too!!

Although we decided to have finger food for our trainees presentation evening Mary and Glen still prepared the food in the traditional wood oven.  The food was sensational and service was above our expectations. We had a family and friends birthday party and Mary & Glen prepared delicious roast beef, together with tandoori chicken, complimented by roast vegetables and salads.  For dessert we had strawberry pizza, which was a great new treat for everyone, and apple crumble.  The service, food and presentation were wonderful and the experience of seeing our food freshly prepared in front of us in the oven made it a great experience.  We all had a lovely time and we would highly recommend Traditional Brick Ovens for any type of function.

The staff at Saint David's recently enjoyed a sumptuous 'End of Term' lunch catered for by Mary and Glen Smith from Traditional Brick Ovens.
Mouths were watering at the sight and smell of the delicious pizzas being cooked on site in the portable brick oven. Staff were delighted with the range of gourmet pizzas that were topped with beautifully fresh meat, vegetables, herbs and cheeses.

The pizzas were absolutely delicious as were all of the salads.  We received nothing but positive feedback from our guests who thoroughly enjoyed both the food and relaxed atmosphere created by the pizza / salad buffet.  The dessert pizza was a big hit and a great talking point!  Cassie, Vicki and Anne are a credit to your team and were not only polite, but also extremely efficient, which was great.  As for you Mary, it was an absolute pleasure dealing with you before, during and after our event.  Congratulations on establishing such a terrific business!  My only hesitation is that next time we try to secure you for an event you’ll be booked out well in advance.

Our first thought’s of using a mobile wood oven was "it’s only for Pizza’s”, however your extensive menu catered for both our young and older guests.

We had Traditional Brick Ovens cater for our staff Christmas Party of over 60 people. From first contacting them, we were very impressed by the quality of their service. We had a lot of questions as we had not used a caterer like this before, even though we had organised many staff functions.
Mary was very helpful and so well organised for the night. Everything was provided and there was little for us to do. The food - pizzas, breads, and salads were all delicious, fresh and the serves were very generous - lots of food for snacks later in the night for late arrivals and to take home! All the setting up and cleaning up was done with a minimum amount of fuss and all we had to do was provide the venue.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Traditional Brick Ovens for any event! This was certainly the easiest at-home party we have ever had!!

We would highly recommend Traditional Brick Ovens to cater any event.
We had them cater our wedding reception for 80 guests. We didn’t want a sit down dinner or just finger food and loved the idea of gourmet pizzas. They provided the pre dinner platters, dinner and dessert and we loved the way they gauged how many pizzas to make according to how hungry the guests were which meant that there was plenty of food for everyone and no one missed out or wanted for more.

All our guests raved about the food and thought it was a fantastic idea which added to the party atmosphere. The food was delicious and the strawberries & cream pizza was scrumptious and a new taste sensation for all our guests. Mary was professional and accommodating from the very beginning. She gave advise and made suggestions to make sure everything ran smoothly and was willing to work around the events of our wedding.
