Traditional Brick Ovens 'TBO' was established quite simply from the love of cooking and entertaining with family and friends.

After 12 years in the Construction and Landscaping Industries, I found this experience to be invaluable when I built my first oven. This is when it all started!  We were hooked on the flavours and versatility of traditional wood fired cooking.

After experimenting with recipes, cooking times and varieties of wood, we realised the flavours were unbeatable.  Our knowledge grew with experience, we became confident and were amazed by the variety of foods we successfully cooked in our wood fire oven.  It’s certainly not all about pizza and bread (although they are fantastic).
 
We have built ovens for both residential and commercial clients all over South Australia. We've also constructed a number NSW and VIC including a large Turkish bakery.
 
What is custom built? 

Custom built in that your oven is truly a one off.  We start by designing an oven in consultation with our client. We discuss important factors i.e. location, materials, form, finish and function in detail.  Only when we have designed the 'perfect oven' does construction begin. Again, custom built means built to individual specifications, thus allowing flexibility and choice.

Kit Ovens
There are many prefabricated (kit form) ovens on the market, some are great... some not so good.. its buy beware!!! Like any purchase.. if it's too good to be true then it probably is! Cheap is not always the best option.. Look at the overall support install instructions, check what materials are used, where the kit is made. Shop around, but compare like with like, and be sure what is included in your kit before you move foward.. We have heard some pretty scary stories at our end..
